An exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Business Development Manager to take responsibility for the growth of a specialist coffee processing machinery portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.
Our client has a 40-year established network within the coffee and packaging industries and is expanding its offering into high-end coffee processing machinery. This is a consultative sales role working directly with coffee roasters and producers to understand their operations and provide the right equipment and processing solutions.
The machinery portfolio encompasses high-value solutions across green coffee intake, storage, conveying, roasting, grinding and plant control, including individual roasting equipment through to complete plant solutions.
The Role - Develop and grow the machinery business across Australia and New Zealand.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the coffee roasting and processing sector.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with coffee roasters and producers.
- Understand customer production requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.
- Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to negotiation and completion.
- Work closely with international manufacturing partners on machinery specifications, installation and after-sales support.
- Prepare quotations, proposals and presentations.
- Attend customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions and travel interstate and to internationally as required.
About You We are looking for someone with either:
- Experience selling process machinery, production equipment or other technically complex capital equipment, ideally with a consultative BDM approach; or
- Strong hands-on experience within coffee roasting or production, combined with the commercial capability and relationship skills to transition into business development.
You will bring strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and the ability to build credibility with customers.
Training & Support This is a business that places a strong emphasis on mentoring, training and developing its people. The successful candidate will receive structured support to build their product and technical knowledge, with ongoing mentoring from experienced internal team members and access to the expertise of international manufacturing partners.
You will not be expected to know everything from day one — the expectation is that you bring the right technical aptitude, commercial mindset and attitude to learning.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a specialist machinery portfolio, develop relationships across a growing industry and build a long-term career within a supportive and technically focused business.
