Senior Systems Engineer MSP 2 Days WFH

  • 15 Jan 2026
  • Sydney
  • Permanent / Full Time

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established high-growth Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their service delivery team. This business has doubled in size over the past 5 years and continues to expand through hiring talented and ambitious professionals.

This role is suited to a hands-on professional who thrives in multi-client environments, enjoys technical variety, and is comfortable owning escalations and complex support issues.

The Opportunity
  • Deliver Tier 2/3 support across multiple client environments, both remotely and onsite.
  • Act as an escalation point for junior engineers, taking ownership of complex incidents and problems.
  • Support and maintain Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Manage and troubleshoot virtualised environments (VMware and/or Hyper-V).
  • Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, switching, VLANs, and wireless networks.
  • Provide onsite support to key managed clients, including preventative maintenance and technical uplift work.
  • Work within SLA-driven service delivery using PSA and RMM tools.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and time recording in line with ISO-aligned MSP processes.
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours support roster.
What skills you'll bring
  • Proven experience in a Systems Engineer / Senior Support Engineer role within an MSP.
  • Strong exposure to multi-tenant environments and competing priorities.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud and on-prem technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across infrastructure, networking, and security.
  • Solid understanding of endpoint security, MFA, and threat management.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet (or equivalent MSP experience).
Desirable MSP Experience
  • Experience working with PSA platforms (e.g. ConnectWise, Autotask, Halo).
  • Experience with RMM tools.
  • Exposure to VoIP / Unified Communications.
  • Involvement in infrastructure refreshes, cloud migrations, or uplift projects.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior MSP engineers.
What can you expect
  • Western Sydney office with 2 days working from home.
  • Stable, well-structured MSP with mature processes and tooling.
  • Broad technical exposure — no single-environment monotony.
  • Senior role with influence over service quality and technical standards.
  • Ongoing training, certification, and career progression opportunities.
