The Role With a diverse and large range of products across many industries, key to your success as a BDM will be your ability to manage and grow existing key clients, open doors to new divisions, cross selling, monitor market trends, both domestic and international, develop expert level product knowledge across relevant products, maintain and develop significant key customer and supplier accounts.
Your primary responsibility will be to foster strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring their satisfaction and driving market share and revenue growth. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new clients through effective business development strategies.
FULL TRAINING training and familiarisation with products/markets will be made available for the successful applicant. Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts, developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Understand clients' business needs, goals, and challenges, and align our solutions to meet their requirements
- Conduct regular check-ins and meetings with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, finance and product development, to ensure client satisfaction and successful execution of projects and deliverables
- Develop account plans and strategies to maximize revenue growth and achieve sales targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target market, including lead generation, prospecting, and networking
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitor activities
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to new prospects, highlighting the value and benefits of products and services
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with new clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, prospects, and client interactions using CRM software
- Monitor and analyze account and sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to the management team and executive
Experience and person requirements
- 2+ years experience in sales and new business development, preferably within food & beverage sectors/manufacturing/printing or packaging
- Demonstrated success in managing and growing key accounts, as well as acquiring new clients and achieving sales targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding win-win solutions
- Results-driven mindset with a proactive approach to identify and seize business opportunities
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools to manage customer relationships and track sales activities
